About
This site is designed to help you build your best AFL SuperCoach team you can (same principles apply to DreamTeam). We were sick of not having the ability to sift through the information to come up with the basic information we needed to ensure we made the right trades. Whist we try to keep my information as factual as possible, we will offer my insight and some and recommendations that may help you going forward. You will also notice my “Must Have’s” list is not necessarily based on best average, we also factor in History, type of play, consistency, age and the role they are playing for their team.
Supercoach Vs DreamTeam Prices and Stats:
We chose to post on this site based on Supercoach Prices and Stats, the reason we chose Supercoach is because we fetlt that the fundamental rules and guidelines for what makes a good team is the same for Supercoach as DreamTeam. There are differences in the best players for each comp, but I feel the best players are the same in each comp though the order of who is the best may vary. So essentially my ”MUST HAVES’s” are almost identical for both competitions. Also, the trigger for me doing this Blog was to identify players that played the previous week with only one or two games under their belt (given players prices don’t change until their third game). This is primarily to upgrade your bench players and injured players to free up cash in order continually upgrade players in your team to get the best players (scorers) possible playing for you. So identifying players with one or two games is irrelevant whether it is SuperCoach or DreamTeam..
I personally chose to use SuperCoach Prices and Stats rather than DreamTeam, primarily because I feel the Supercoach and Champion Data stats better reflect who is a truly a good player for each team. They heavily penalise mistakes (Free’s against, Clangers), and better rewards contested possessions, contested marks and only gives a low reward for uncontested/cheap kicks and handballs (the classic Joel Bowden possessions).
One Last Note: Whilst I may criticise players and refer to good or bad players at different times. It should always be noted that there is a huge difference between a “Good Player” and a “Good SuperCoach/DreamTeam player”. This is highlighted by some brilliant taggers and defenders that do not get stats that recognise their good work.
We don’t claim to be an experts nor do we practice everything we preach (for example, I don’t have Cox… unfortunately!). We try to base the majority of information on facts (the actual scores). We try to not let our personal bias for and against players impact my advice (for example, I love watching Ablett, I hate watching Lockyer, yet both are MUST HAVE’s). We are in no way formally affiliated or endorsed by the AFL, SuperCoach, DreamTeam, The HeraldSun or any other organise that may take offence at anything I publish. My team and I are purely offering advice and discussion to help you with some SuperCoach Tips and DreamTeam Tips…. so you have can have the best team possible.
